The Office of the National Ombudsman has received notification that Guido van Woerkom has withdrawn his candidature for the post of National Ombudsman, despite his recent selection by the Dutch House of Representatives. The Office respects his decision and appreciates the difficulty of his position.
Acting National Ombudsman Frank van Dooren will move quickly to discuss the resulting situation with the President of the House of Representatives.
